Volunteers who donate their time and talents at Porter provide a valuable services to the health system's patients and staff.
Volunteering is a position of sharing and caring, a gift of time, enthusiasm and commitment. It is a position in which your reimbursement is personal reward. As a volunteer you share your skills and talents, enjoy satisfaction from helping others and meet other people in the community and develop lasting friendships

Volunteer Opportunities:
Adult Volunteers
Adult volunteers range from young professionals to those recently retired, as well as retirees from our health system. As an adult volunteer, you are asked to contribute a minimum of three hours a month. There are volunteer opportunities at four Porter campuses.
Junior Volunteers
Students age 16 or older are actively involved in volunteer opportunities at Porter. In addition to their service contributions, students gain exposure to health care careers. Volunteer hours can be scheduled around extracurricular school activities. Volunteering is excellent groundwork for college entrance and employment considerations.

- Lobby Information Desks at the Valparaiso Hospital Campus, Portage Hospital Campus, Valparaiso Outpatient Campus, and Chesterton Medical Campus
