Where Life Begins

Located at the Valparaiso Hospital Campus, the goal of Porter’s New Beginnings Center is to help fulfill the dreams for each of the families who come to Porter for the birth of their babies. Each year, about 1,400 families entrust their birthing experience to Porter.

It is a responsibility we take very seriously.

There are a host of reasons so many parents and parents-to-be entrust the staff at Porter with the birth of their children. Families who come to Porter know the health system has combined advanced technologies with staff expertise to provide the very best outcomes possible.

Each staff member in the New Beginnings Center has – on average – 15 years experience in maternal/child care.

From the world-class technology that helps ultrasound technicians visualize your unborn child to the OB-Triage area, which helps ensure that mother – and baby – stay healthy through the pregnancy, Porter is committed to helping make your birthing experience the best possible for you and your family.

In 2007, Porter completed renovations of the New Beginnings Center, including the laboring and birthing rooms and the hospital’s 15 crib nursery, to bring the comforts of home to your birthing experience at Porter.
