Porter has a long tradition of excellence in maternal and newborn care. Each staff member who will care for you and your newborn during your stay has an average of 15 years experience in maternal/child care. We combine that expertise with up-to-date technologies to monitor your health and that of your child. That expertise includes Porter’s OB Triage area, which allows women who need prenatal testing and those who think they may be in labor, but are not certain, to be evaluated. We also provide specialized care for medically fragile newborns. In 1977, Porter became the first hospital in the region to establish a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The health system continues to lead the region in providing round-the-clock, specialized care for newborns.
