Porter's Surgery Department is comprised of experienced surgeons, nurses and technicians who are dedicated to delivering the highest quality of care for our patients. Our Medical Staff consists of board-certified surgeons who offer advanced surgical care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All of our surgical nurses are trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Our surgical technicians are board-certified, meeting national standards for their field.

Our surgeons are skilled in an extensive array of specialties, including cardiac/thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, gynecology, urology, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, laser surgery, and general surgery.

Porter maintains an extensive orientation program for surgical nurses, combining classroom education with hands-on training with a mentor. As they gain experience, surgical nurses are assigned to a specialty area, where they develop expertise that makes them a valuable asset to the surgeons on Porter's Medical Staff. Many of our surgical nurses have more than 20 years of experience.
